The traffic is usually very well-behaved, in comparison to similar
large cities in the rest of the world. Part of this is due to the
strict system of fines for which Singapore is well renowned, and
part to the high cost of owning a car. This said, I admit that the
picture is a bit too idyllic: there are cars
in Singapore.
