The solar observatory in Udaipur looks more like a tropical paradise
than anything else. It is built on an island in the middle of an
artificial lake, in order to take advantage of the reduced turbulence
of the atmosphere, which thanks to the lake is less subject to the
large temperature changes between night and day in this desert
environment.
